Guess what…. these recipes originally began as Hot Chocolate recipes! I made several different varieties for Christmas gifts. There were some leftovers, so I had to use them up myself– poor me! : ) My favorite was the Nutmeg, or the Mexican Mocha– or the Pumpkin Spice. I loved them all!!
And then I realized that they made fantastic coffee creamers, too!! Especially if you like mocha coffee. Have you ever used hot chocolate mixes in your coffee?!
These would make great Mother’s Day or Father’s Day gifts for coffee lovers. And of course, Christmas or any other occasion works, too.
Would you rather buy instead of make them yourself? Here are some great options! (But some flavor combinations I’ve never seen available in stores– like Snickerdoodle or Eggnog….)
The recipes are all below, after the Coffee Creamer Ingredients List! Enjoy!
These are all the ingredients that I gathered because I wanted to make a bunch of different flavors. You probably will not need everything in this picture, unless you are also planning to make all of the flavors!
I made these coffee creamers as gifts. I used a ratio of 2/3 cup nonfat dry milk powder to 1/3 whole milk powder.
I bought mini marshmallows from my local Amish bulk food store.
I topped the coffee creamers with 1/4 cup of mini chocolate chips and mini marshmallows.
I printed instructions on small label/ return address sticker paper. This coffee creamer can also be used as a hot chocolate mix instead!
I re-used old peanut butter jars in addition to Mason jars.
I cut circles from old Christmas cards to cover the tops.
And then I used more old cards to label which kinds of mixes are in the jars.
Get creative with your containers … Reuse the cocoa package!
Tie a ribbon on it and label it.
I made an extra large batch for a family with lots of kids.
I put the mix in a clean milk jug that I had washed and dried. (Make sure it is completely dry– you do not want even a single drop of moisture in the jug.)
And then I made a label for it that was the same shape as the original jug label.
For the Snickerdoodle and Eggnog flavors, I chopped up white melting wafers. I think they melt better than white chocolate chips.
Add the chopped wafers to the dry mix.
Put the mix in a jar and top with mini marshmallows.
Snickerdoodle with marshmallows… it smells so good. I really enjoyed sampling all the flavors I was making.
I topped Dark Chocolate Peppermint with Hershey Candy Cane kisses, and marshmallows.
Every jar is different. All of the recipes are below!
Put the jars into paper or fabric gift bags. Now you have easy gifts for your children’s teachers or anyone.
Bonus: These diy coffee creamers have an incredibly long shelf life — a year or more! But don’t expect them to last that long….!
