Life behind the Scenes at B4 and Afters

How often do you have great ideas? And then How often do you implement them? I have great ideas on a weekly basis– sometimes more. And because I don’t write them down– I forget to share them with you! But no more.

I purpose to share more of my great ideas with you. They may not be big enough to make a blog post out of, but I can still share it with you, even though it may be just a sentence or two.

Like this– when you put leftover food away– do you put it all in separate containers? Why not put some food all together in one large container– then at the next mealtime you only have to pull out one dish– and it means less dishes to wash, too. See what I mean:

One thing I’ve wanted to do for awhile is to put a rotating Bible verse at the end of each post. I finally did it! It’s not real big, but it’s there.

My Life

I’ve reached that age where my vision has changed. If I’m wearing contacts I have to wear glasses to read my phone or computer if I don’t want it to be blurry. And if I’m wearing my glasses and not contacts, then I have to lift up my glasses to see things up close. It’s a no-win situation. But it’s really a minor inconvenience and I’m learning to work with it. In a way it makes me feel sort of special– because I remember other people in my life who looked so sophisticated peering over their bifocals. Now I have that “distinctive look” too!

The solar field proposal saga still continues on our neighboring property. I thought the decision would be final on August 13, but apparently there is still a process to go through, including more opportunity for the community to have their say. I’ve spent a lot of time on that, and will probably be spending more time on it. So many things calling for my time!!

We are harvesting tomatoes. We already had lots of yellow squash, some cabbage. We got a 25 pound watermelon this week! Last year we had a whole bunch of watermelon, but this year I only see one more…. several rotted on the vine and I don’t know why.

My Plans

This week I put out a produce/ gift stand. I’ve wanted to do that for awhile. It’s a lot of work to bring things in and out each day, but we’ll see how it goes. The Amish are moving in around me and they all have stands so I figured I may as well have one, too!

School has started and I’ve been reselling last year’s books. My son has started at his private school. My part time remote office job is having its hours reduced next month so I’ve been figuring out how to replace that income. If you know of anybody hiring for a remote part time position please let me know! A few weeks ago I cut out a lot of fabric to make more

It’s a simple sewing project. Now to finish sewing them, stuff them, and hand sew them all closed. I really enjoy giving these away. They make great travel pillows. You can always sew a loop in the end to make it easy to carry or able to hook onto other luggage.

And it’s time to think about fall and Christmas projects. It will be here and past before we know it!

Warmly,

Liberty
