Today I’m ready to show you what I did to decorate my kitchen for Fall. It wasn’t alot. But as they say– a little goes a long way. And as I’ve shown you in other posts, just making one small spot pretty is enough to brighten your life!

Cutting Board Decor

To start with, I have this wall at my stove where I have a cutting board hanging. It was a gift from a relative. I decided to hang this cute coaster on the cutting board with some masking tape. Masking tape is one of my favorite adhesives, which you probably already know if you’ve been here before!

The coaster was a gift from a different relative! As was the toothpick piano holder…. and then the black and white picture to the left was a gift from someone else… well you get the idea! Not only do I enjoy giving gifts, I enjoy using gifts I have received. : )

The other area in my kitchen that I decorated for fall was the table. The tablecloth is a piece of fabric I found….. if I remember correctly, in a fabric store in Pound, VA. Then I put down a rectangle shaped doily, and covered it with some heavy duty plastic.

You can buy plastic tablecloth covers online in various thicknesses. I am fortunate to have a store around 45 minutes away that sells them, so that I can feel the different thicknesses.

Then I gathered my collection of pie and food candles to display them all together. I had not displayed them all together like this before. And I love how it turned out!!
The chocolate candy looking ones were from the Dollar Tree, but I can’t remember if I found them at a thrift store or something instead….

The two muffin candles are from separate visits to the Iowa 80 truckstop in Walcott, IA. They smell soooo good! And no, I haven’t bought a candle every time we have stopped there. I tell you though– they have full size pie candles and I have always thought they were too expensive to splurge on— but one of these days…..

And then these mini pie candles– I will never be able to burn, of course! They are so cute– and smell like cinnamon and fall. Speaking of fall smells….. You should have seen a certain husband’s mind explode the other day when he was informed that pumpkin spice has no actual pumpkin in it…….

I found the apple pie candles at thrift stores– brand new! How could I pass them up?!

The cherry pie candle was a gift from my daughter– she likes candles, too.

Several days after I carefully took these pictures– I found another pie candle that I had forgotten about– a mini pumpkin pie– also brand new from a thrift store. Isn’t it so cute?!

When you zoom in, you will see the tinier pie candles– and those I’ve had for just years and years. I think maybe they were from the Dollar Tree but again– I can’t remember.

Do you like candles? Don’t candles and Fall just go together?!

  1. Ooops I didn’t read carefully enough! Well I wonder could you burn them if you wanted – would they smell as amazing as they look?
