Simple Hello Kitty Birthday Party
By now you may know that I like to use cardboard for birthday parties! There are so many ways to use cardboard to make things. Best of all, it is free. You can paint it. It comes in any shape and size– think refrigerator or porch swing!
I think this was my first time using cardboard for one of my children’s birthday parties. My daughter was turning three years old. I made a Hello Kitty photo booth; you know– a cardboard cut out where the face is cut away so that you can put your own face in its place. Since she was just turning three, she was pretty short; so the Hello Kitty cut out is pretty short, also.
I googled Hello Kitty pictures until I found one simple enough that I thought I could copy it– including the colors. The paint only cost me a couple of dollars– I bought outdated samples at my local hardware store.

I made these easy cupcakes for the party. I just bought Hello Kitty candy cupcake toppers. I made cream cheese frosting, sprinkled it with pink sugar, and added the cupcake toppers. There were pretty and delicious!
I guess that I could have cut the face hole a little larger! Here she is looking through. Even some adults knelt down and got their photos taken.
This cardboard cutout stayed around for months after the party. It was a lot of fun, and so cute, too!
Awh, that is so cute, I love the photo with your little ones face poking through, so sweet!
