These are my favorite recipes that I’ve used over and over again. I hope you’ll like them too! Do you have a favorite recipe you love? I’d enjoy hearing about it because maybe I could try it too– then it might become one of my favorites and maybe one day I will add it here.

Yes, you might find an abundance of desserts here– and yes, I might have a sweet tooth…. although the older I get the more I find that I tolerate less sugar. I also love CHEESE. Doesn’t everything taste better with cheese?

If you’re like me, you can’t help but be creative when you are making your favorite recipes. Since we all have to eat– we might as well do it in style, with flair, and that means creativity. It’s sort of like crafting with food, yes?

Birthday Cake Ideas

I prefer cupcakes– my kids prefer cakes. Sigh. I think cupcakes are so much easier to decorate than a cake. So for years I have made my kids a special birthday cake. Some turn out better than others, but most of all my kids know that love went into that cake. And whoever you make a cake for will know that, too. You will find a lot of their birthday cakes here, as well as regular cake recipes like Grandma’s Pound Cake. Also included is one of the very first simple recipes I learned to make as a kid– Coffee Cake.

Chocolate Covered Pretzels

I think that chocolate covered pretzels are one of the easiest and fastest homemade desserts that you can make. You don’t have to bake anything, and it only takes a few ingredients. It’s easy to get a wow factor, too. The first recipe uses plain pretzel rods, and then it just gets more fun and fancy after that!

Favorite Cookie Recipes

My all time favorite snack is cookies dipped in milk. Preferably homemade cookies. I think it started when I was expecting our first child. And then when she turned out so pretty– I knew it was the cookies! So of course I had to keep eating them when I was pregnant again…. And then it was just a habit. If you decide to have a habit like mine, then I suggest that you limit yourself to 2-4 cookies— just enough to use up that cup of milk.

Delicious Desserts

When I was a kid, we always had the basic ingredients for baking– flour, sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Add cocoa powder, butter, milk, chocolate chips– and you can make so many things with just those basic ingredients plus a couple more.

Delicious Dips

Dips are an easy way to feed a crowd. They are also a great way to impress at a potluck.

Entrees

By the looks of this page– you’re going to think that all I eat is desserts! That can’t be true though, can it?! Let’s just say that I can’t be as creative with regular entrees as I can with desserts…. I can tell you though that I recently wrote down my basic chili recipe for someone. I hardly ever make chili the same way twice. Maybe that’s why I have so few entrees?

Mexican Food

I worked at a Mexican fast food restaurant called Taco John’s during highschool and college breaks. I grew to love eating (and making) tacos, burritos, loaded nachos….. and I like it made just so. The apple dessert you find below is no longer served at Taco John’s. I remember a few other things that are no longer served there either– maybe one day I will get around to making them and sharing them here, too.

Pies

My favorite pie ever is Pecan Cheesecake Pie. If you like cheesecake, you will love this pie.

“Salads”

Both of these dessert salads are from my childhood. It’s been years since I’ve seen anyone else bring these to a potluck. I suppose other newer sides and desserts have taken their place– but I still really enjoy these old fashioned “salads.”
